The Biggest Game in Town
A. Alvarez

ISBN: 0-00-654075-9
First Publication: 1983

The Biggest Game in Town is an extremely well-written and entertaining look at the poker world through the eyes of British writer A. Alvarez. Alvarez presents a more literary look at the poker world than Holden does in Big Deal, but his book is still both accessible and entertaining. Instead of focusing on his own exploits, Alvarez focuses on the personalities in the Las Vegas poker scene and surrounding the World Series of Poker. The book is strong on insight, very nicely written, and well worth its price. A short and enjoyable read.
